Rushville, OH/ Continental Who’s Who/- Barbara Welch, MS, RN, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Healthcare. Barbara is an Emergency Department RN and Clinical Informatics Analyst at Fairfield Medical Center.
A full service 222-bed, nonprofit, 501(C) 3 hospital, Fairfield Medical Center provides a multitude of general acute health services to over 250,000 residents within Fairfield, Hocking, Perry and Athens counties.
Initially beginning her career as a medical assistant and candy striper prior to becoming a registered nurse, Barbara started her profession in nursing nearly thirty years ago. A nurse for twenty one years, Barbara has been at Fairfield Medical Center for thirteen years where she specializes in all facets of nursing in addition to the areas of clinical informatics and emergency care.
Priding her success on being passionate about her career, Barbara’s advice to those entering the profession is “be an advocate for your patient, be passionate about the nursing profession and in turn you will be an excellent asset to the nursing profession.” To keep up with the latest in healthcare, Barbara is a member of the following organizations: American Nurses Association, Ohio Nurses Association, Mid-Ohio District Nurses Association, Emergency Nurses Association, American Nursing Informatics Association, International Association for Forensic Nurses, International Women’s Leadership Association and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nursing.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. Donating her charity to organizations such as Wounded Warriors Project, local church involvement and various Catholic charities, Barbara would like to seek a position in management in the years to come.
Throughout the course of her education and training, Barbara studied at the St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing.
