With 20 years of professional experience in his field, Benjamin D. Christiansen, PsyD—known by his patients as “Dr. Ben”—leads Tanner Clinic’s neuropsychology department as the clinic’s first neuropsychologist in its history. Dr. Ben and his team are located in the west wing’s lower level of the Layton Tanner Clinic where they successfully run their neuropsychology, traumatic brain injury, and memory care clinics. Alongside his role at Tanner Clinic, Dr. Ben has been a clinical neurologist at the David Hospital and Medical Center since 2015. He also shares his expertise in his specialty as an adjunct clinical professor at Rocky Vista University since 2018.
As a highly trained neuropsychologist, Dr. Ben always strives to understand everything about his patients’ experiences and help provide effective solutions. He and his team are dedicated to evaluating patients for any potential underlying issue that could be causing that problem. In addition, Dr. Ben demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and integrity in his accomplishing his goal of keeping his patients more informed than other medical professional. At an early age, Dr. Ben knew he would one day be a doctor. He completed his undergraduate work in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Weber State University of Phoenix. He later earned his doctorate degree in clinical psychology in 2013 at the Minnesota School of Psychology at Argosy and became a neuropsychologist. Between 2009 and 2015, Dr. Ben served as an assessment practicum student at the Hennepin County Medical Center, a therapy practicum student with the U.S. Department of Justice, an advanced practicum student in forensics at Valley Mental Health, a pre-doctoral intern with Applied Psychology Group of Texoma and a post-doctoral fellow at the Neuropsychology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ben has excelled in various clinical roles including medical director at Genote LLC in 2018 and 2019 and the owner of the Utah Center for Assessment and Treatment in 2015 and 2016.
To stay up-to-date with the latest in his field, Dr. Christiansen maintains active memberships with the Sports Neuropsychology Society, the American Psychological Association, the Utah Psychological Association, the International Neuropsychological Association, the National Academy of Neuropsychology, the International Academy for Brain Injuries, and the International Pediatric Academy for Brain Injuries.
