CAROL HEAD, RN, MSN - SENIOR NURSING LEADERSHIP CONSULTANT

Albuquerque, NM- Carol Head, RN, MSN, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Nurse for her reputable work and outstanding contributions to the field of Nursing in recognition of her role as a Consultant. 

With more than 40 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Carol is revered for her outstanding contributions to the industry, especially during her 25 years in maternal-child nursing. A proven leader with an intense focus in building positive physician/nurse relationships, team building, quality management, customer satisfaction, revenue and productivity enhancement, and cost reductions, Carol is known for her strategic planning and reengineering with the aptitude to influence positive change.

Carol has served as a Senior Nursing Leadership Consultant for many years. She provides operational leadership for Women’s Services in both small and large organizations, ranging from 1300 births to 5000 births/year. She has led an initiative to improve nursing professionalism. Her drive led to 50% of nursing staff becoming OB Certified and 100% of staff becoming certified in fetal monitoring, implemented cross-training throughout OB services. This resulted in improved productivity and decreased utilization of agency nurses. Additionally, she collaborated with the Anesthesia Group to implement designated OB anesthesia, which resulted in decreased waiting time for patients requesting epidurals and a 20% increase in patient satisfaction.

Prior to her career, Carol earned a Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix. To further enhance her professional development, she serves as a distinguished fellow of several elite organizations including Sigma Theta Tau, the National Association of Professional Women, American Nurses Association, and Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.

Active in philanthropic work, Carol is charitable to the V.I.L.LA.G.E Projects and volunteers at a medical center in Ghana on annually. A noted humanitarian, she is in the process of starting a nursing scholarship in her mother’s name in the village of Senya-Beraku, Ghana. She is passionate about helping others, having involvement with women’s health and breast cancer awareness charities and organizations.

When she is not working, Carol enjoys spending her spare time golfing, traveling, and listening to Jazz.
