Lancaster, PA- Remembering the legacy of Charles Franklin Reinhart, Continental Who’s Who is recognizing Mr. Reinhart as a Top Educator in recognition of his role at Columbia High School.
Columbia High School students learn to critically think,
solve scientific problems, and make informed decisions. Mr. Reinhart’s course
integrated both chemistry and physics, focusing on force, motion, energy, and
matter. To achieve these accomplishments, students conducted laboratory and
field assignments, using the scientific method during their investigations.
Mr. Reinhart was an expert science educator and modern music history writer who
enjoyed disc jockey, working at Columbia High School from 1970 to 2003. Before
this position, he worked as a science teacher at Solanco High School in
Quarryville, PA, from 1968 to 1970. Excelling as an event announcer for over
twenty years, he devoted his weekends as a presenter and musician for WGAL, a
new station affiliated with NBC. Afterwards, he presented for WQXA-FM from 1976
to 1992. In 1979, he served as co-founder and treasurer of Keystone Record
Collectors, the country’s longest running record show.
In recognition of education endeavors, Mr. Reinhart received a Bachelor of
Science in 1968. Furthering his education, he graduated from Millersville
University in Pennsylvania in 1971, earning a Master of Arts. Following this,
he became a certified science teacher in the state of Pennsylvania.
Active in the community, Mr. Reinhart was affiliated with the National
Education Association, National Science Teachers Association, and Pennsylvania
Education Association. On account of his athletic interests, he was a founding member
of the Columbia Junior-Senior High School Sports Hall of Fame.
Mr. Reinhart loved music, inspiring him to compose You Can’t Do That, The Book
of Beatles Lists, Buchanan & Godman & Beyond: A Compendium of Novelty
Break-in Records, and Jimmy Stewart on the Air. He composed one additional book
that will be published in the future, Rockography: an encyclopedia of Rock’
Roll. Honored in the sports community, the Sports Hall of Fame chose him as a
member in 2018, recognizing him as a new honoree in 2023.
