Dr. Bruno E. Gerber is recognized in the Continental Who’s Who among Medical Professionals.
Doctor Gerber is a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon with a special interest in biologic surgical treatments of musculoskeletal conditions of the lower limbs. He also is employed as medical advisor in research and development of computer assisted navigation in orthopedic surgery and a European project regarding innovative orthopedic laser treatment.
Dr. Gerber undertook his comprehensive orthopedic surgical specialist training at the Orthopedic Department of the Basel University Teaching Hospitals in Switzerland, where he was made responsible for the elective arthroscopic surgery service. He completed a fellowship at Arthritic Orthopedic Hospital in Toronto, Canada before taking over the post of surgeon in chief of the orthopedic department in the City General Hospital of Neuchatel, Switzerland.
From 2002 to the end of 2011 he has been a Senior Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at the University Hospital Lewisham in London, before he went completely into the private sector. He has set up a reference centre for computer navigated orthopedic surgery, of which he is a longstanding expert.
In addition to his work as a surgeon, Dr. Gerber has also conducted various basic and clinical research projects and has been teaching students and surgeons in training since his activity at the Basel University Teaching Hospitals. He has also lectured at many local and international meetings and is the author of numerous publications. He has just created his own independent medico-legal expert witness office based in Switzerland with apart from the full spectrum of medico-legal work on musculoskeletal cases in that country has an international scope focused on medical malpractice.
In the future, Dr. Gerber in his private practice looks forward to offer the cutting edge developments of computer navigated surgery applications and is conducting ongoing clinical research about biological repairs of cartilage and ligaments. Another main activity is on the expansion of his medico-legal office.
