Garnering nearly four decades of experience in medicine, two of which are in neuropsychiatry, Dr. Karatinos is an esteemed Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, specializing in traumatic brain injuries, bipolar disorder ( manic depression), post- traumatic stress disorder, psychopharmacology, women’s issues, and more, through a variety of outpatient treatment methods. In addition to the board certification in General Psychiatry, she holds a subspecialty certification in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry through the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties.
Dr. Karatinos is co- author of several published papers, and sole author of the 152 page book The Role of the Autonomic Nervous System in Psychiatry. She has prepared a teaching video of the book, in which she presents 3 of the 18 patients featured. To keep abreast of the latest in the industry, Dr. Karatinos maintains affiliation with the American Neuropsychiatric Association, American Psychiatric Association and the Neuroscience Education Institute. She is also a member of the International Women’s Leadership Association (IWLA). In her free time, she enjoys physical fitness and traveling.
Graduating from the University Of Maryland College Of Medicine with her Medical degree, Dr. Karatinos holds a Master of Science in Physiology from the University Of Florida College Of Medicine as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the College of Wooster.
