She was also awarded the Global Human Resource Leadership Award in Mumbai in 2007.
Shirley earned her Ed.D. from Harvard University Graduate School of Education, and also holds an M.Ed Degree from Harvard. Shirley received her B.Ed. Honours from the University of South Africa, and also earned her B.A. from the University of the Western Cape.
