Gerald Perrier is a Health and Safety Specialist, working as a Consultant for workplaces across the globe to make their work environments safer for all employees. For the past 36 years, he has been the Founder and General Manager at Perrier Consulting, working with clients in 77 countries.
To obtain his education, Mr. Perrier attended The University of Montreal, graduating with a degree in Industrial Relations in 1980. He next attended the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi, graduating in 1983 with an Undergraduate degree in Adult Education. He next earned an AEC degree in Accident Prevention at Cegep of Jonquiere in 1984. Mr. Perrier later studied at The University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne and completed studies in Health and Safety Risk Control in 1996, which included the new European Union Legislation.
Mr. Perrier gained experience as a Safety Coordinator for 800 employees at Atlas Turner and later supported industrial companies as an OHS Training Service Manager at Cegep of Jonquiere. Using this background in the industry, Mr. Perrier opened his own business in 1986.
At Perrier Consulting, Mr. Perrier and his team work to improve occupational health and safety practices. He uses a preventative approach customized to the organization’s culture and utilizes a targeted strategic approach to implement risk-management practices into any company successfully. He is passionate about his work and strives to continue the company’s growth in the coming years.
Remaining involved in the industry, Mr. Perrier is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Quebec Association for Occupational Health, Safety, and Hygiene (AQHSST). Mr. Perrier has been the chairman of the annual conference of this society. Mr. Perrier frequently writes articles on health and safety topics and has been published numerous times.
He will be awarded for his lifetime work in May 2022 as the first Consultant to win the prestigious Antoine-Aumont award by the Quebec Association for Occupational Health, Safety, and Hygiene (AQHSST). This price is awarded to a person or group of people who have made remarkable contributions to hygiene, health, and safety at work in Quebec, Canada.
