As one of the largest health care complexes in the world, the University of Michigan Health System is home to many groundbreaking advancements in both medicine and technology. With the opening of the medical school in 1850, the University of Michigan has grown to become one of the biggest names in the medical education and technology arena.
Board Certified in Anesthesiology, Dr. Hervey-Jumper is a general Anesthesiologist that has special interest in the surgical outcomes for poorly controlled Psychiatric ailments as well as PTSD and its relationship to medical outcomes. She is dedicated to medical mentorship and Resident Education.
Heavily educated in her line of work, her advice to those starting out in the medical field is "Find a network or healthy avenue to vent your stress. Find a support team to help you deal with the intense strain of a high pressure environment. So many bend to the stress by escaping with substance abuse and losing their mission and zeal in the misery of addiction."
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, travel and singing. She is married to neurosurgeon Dr. Shawn Hervey-Jumper and they have two children.
Dr. Hervey-Jumper obtained her Medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed her Residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan Health System.
