HON. ROBERTA C. PEVEAR - AUTHOR/GENEALOGIST/CO-EDITOR

Exeter, NH - Hon. Roberta C. Pevear is recognized by Continental Who's Who with the Lifetime Achievement award in the field of Writing and Genealogy.

Roberta, the Co-Author of the book "Write Quick: War and A Woman's Life in Letters 1835-1867", a nonfiction story, which provides a captivating and compelling glimpse into the reality of a Union woman's life during the Civil War, hopes to see this story as a Documentary.

Throughout the book, Roberta transcribes 150-year-old letters written to her Great-grandmother, Eliza Bean Foster, by Eliza’s Brother, Andrew Beane, and her Husband, Henry Foster, during the Civil War. Due to the success of the story, the book has been placed into the State House library in Concord, New Hampshire, and the Daughters of the American Revolution Library in Washington, D.C.

Prior to being an author, Pevear spent over 30 years working in business administration and law, and served 10 years as a New Hampshire State Representative, before retiring. After deciding to change courses, she has now taken to writing and filmmaking as her professional pursuits.

"HEARTACHE: A Woman and the Civil War" is the name of the film Roberta proposes as a Documentary about this timeless Civil-War era love story. "HEARTACHE" is a story of lovers robbed of their futures by tragically dying young. Two young people ripped apart by fate, a timeless and tragic real-life story, which Roberta hopes to, ultimately, see made available to schools for teaching the role of women in Civil War History. Roberta, as Executive Producer, has a contract with Narrow Street Films to obtain funding, through Grants, donations, and other sources, to make this film a reality.

Pevear also maintains professional memberships and has affiliations with prestigious organizations, including being Chairman of the Veteran's Committee, Exeter Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution; serving on the Board of Directors of the Exeter Sportsman's Club; and being a member of the National Association of Professional Women. Pevear is also a Life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Pevear graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine, with a Commercial Diploma, and, when she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, portrait painting, and brushing up on her Civil War history.

She dedicates the recognition of this story to her mother, Thirza Hickford Gibson, who kept the documents from being destroyed.
