
Arlington, VA-Janice L. Jacobs is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of International Affairs in recognition of her role as (Retired) Transparency Coordinator the U.S. Department of State (Retired).
With thirty five years of experience in the field of International Affairs, Janice L. Jacobs is a retired Senior Foreign Service Officer revered for her exceptional contributions to the industry. From October 2015-April 2017, Janice served as the Department of State’s first Transparency Coordinator, helping to improve the agency’s records management and transparency systems. Prior to this, Janice served as the State Department’s Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs, overseeing American citizen services, visa processing, and passport issuance, activities performed by a staff of some 12,000 in 300 locations overseas and in the U.S. with annual revenues of some $3 billion.
Throughout the course of her education and training, Janice
obtained an Honorary Ph.D. in Public Service from Southern Illinois University
in 2018. In her previous years, Janice earned her Master of Science degree in
National Security Strategy from National War College in 1995. She also obtained
her Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Southern Illinois University in
1968.
To further enhance her professional development, Janice is an esteemed member
of the Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society. In addition, Janice is a member of the
American Academy of Diplomacy of where she will assume the title of Chairman of
the Membership Committee effective in January of 2019.
When she is not working, Janice enjoys running (long distance), is a huge
baseball fan, and loves gardening, reading, and volunteering.
