As the founder of Brune
Law Firm, he has been working in the legal field for more than 46 years,
bringing a vast amount of experience to every case. Mr. Brune is admitted to
practice in a number of federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. He is
a member of the Oklahoma and Iowa State Bar Associations.
Mr. Brune is an experienced attorney with expertise in multiple areas of law, including estate
planning, disputes between multinational organizations, and complex litigation
strategies. At Brune Law Firm, he takes on business law, energy law,
transportation law, commercial law, and trusts. Mr. Brune understands the
importance of encouraging clients and providing dedicated legal support at
every step. He forms strong relationships with his clients, and is known for
his work ethic of doing everything possible to provide the best outcome.
Mr. Brune began his
legal career in 1975, working as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court for
the Northern District of Oklahoma. He then worked as an Assistant District
Attorney, and as a Special District Judge. He previously was a Partner and
Managing Member of other prominent Tulsa law firms. In addition, he lectured at
the University of Tulsa College of Law and the Tulsa County Bar Association’s
Department of Continuing Legal Education.
To receive his
education, Mr. Brune attended St. Ambrose University, receiving his Bachelor of
Arts. He then attended the University of Iowa, where he graduated with a Master
of Arts degree. Mr. Brune is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served
as a combat officer in the Republic of South Vietnam, and was awarded a Bronze
Star for valor. After his service, he received his J.D. from the University of
Tulsa in 1974, where he was on the Tulsa Law Journal Board of Editors.
Mr. Brune is a former Trustee
of the Oklahoma State University Medical Center and is a former Chairman of the
St. Francis of Assisi Trust, an education trust fund. He is a board member of
and general counsel to the Tulsa Foundation of Architecture. He has served as
the President of the Tulsa County Bar Association, President and Director of
Legal Services of Eastern Oklahoma, President of the University of Tulsa
College of Law Alumni Association, Oklahoma Fellow of the American Bar
Foundation, and a member of the Temporary Court of Appeals of the State of
Oklahoma.
In recognition of his
professional achievements, has was recognized in Who’s Who in American Law
(1985), he was inducted into the University of Tulsa’s College of Law Hall of
Fame (2014), and he received the Saint Francis of Assisi Award (2018), among
others.
In his spare time, Mr.
Brune enjoys bicycling, and supporting his church and the local community.
