Ypsilanti, MI-Linda Beth Lewis-White, Ph.D. is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a 2 Year Pinnacle Professional of The Year in the field of Education in recognition of her role as Tenured Professor at Eastern Michigan University.
Having worked in the field of education since 1977, Dr. Linda Beth Lewis-White has become a venerated professional in the industry. Serving 24 years in her current position as a tenured professor as Easter Michigan University, Dr. Lewis-White has attained extensive experience in the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics instruction, vocabulary development, emergent literacy, language development, and writing across the curriculum at the elementary level. An adamant believer that “good teaching is good teaching is good teaching,” Dr. Lewis-White stands behind the notion that all children deserve the very best teachers can prepare.
While pursuing her educational endeavors, Dr. Lewis-White attained a Bachelor of Arts in Home Economics and a Master of Arts in Social Sciences and Bi-lingual Education from California State University. Thereafter, Dr. Lewis-White would go on to complete her postgraduate coursework at Texas Women's University and earn a Doctor of Philosophy in Reading at East Texas State University. In recognition of her exceptional work, Dr. Lewis-White was inducted into Phi Delta Kappa and Kappa Delta Phi.
To further enhance her professional development, Dr. Lewis-White is an esteemed member of several elite organizations including the ILA and ALER.
Dr. Lewis-White has served as an elder of Journey of Faith Christian Church and is a member of the worship team.
In recognition of her many professional accolades, Dr. Lewis-White was the recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, the MARS Social Justice Award in 2013, Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award by the National Academic Advising Association in 2011, and Ronald W. Collins Provost Distinguished Faculty Award in 2007.
When she is not working, Dr. Lewis-White enjoys reading, knitting, and gardening.
