MARGIE LEE COOPER DOWNEY - CERTIFIED CONSULTANT / FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Dallas, TX — Margie Lee Cooper Downey is being recognized by Continental Who's Who for her outstanding achievements and professional excellence as a CEO Nonprofit Entrepreneur, Educator, Author, and Insurance Agent.

Inspired by her Christian faith, Margie Lee Cooper Downey is the Founder and President of two charities. Home School Families of Twins (HSFT) was founded in 1997, the same year she gave birth to her twins. The programs at HSFT help local twins or home school groups meet similar families with twins to provide a Christian perspective on parenting multiples. Later in 2005, Ms. Downey founded Abigail's Archangels Domestic Violence Prevention and now serves as its President. Abigail's Archangels Domestic Violence Prevention is a nonprofit tax-exempt 501(c)3 educational corporation offering men, women, and children safety resources. As a proud overcomer and survivor of domestic violence, she remains committed to encouraging, educating, and inspiring victims for rebuilding a healthier, saner life free of abuse and danger. Ms. Downey is also a distinguished author, having written and published books, manuals, newsletters, and web sites, including "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the Workplace, Illustrated Media Training Course" and "Home School Families of Twins Survey & Report".

A graduate of The University of Texas at Dallas, Ms. Downey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies. She is a certified AHIP insurance agent, licensed benefit advisor, insurance agent in Medicare sales and former TPIN tax preparer who is also licensed in various health care insurance policies in Texas, Ohio, Florida, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Utah. She reads, writes, and speaks English and Spanish.

Throughout her career as an insurance agent, Ms. Downey excelled in various roles with multiple health insurance companies. She is currently employed by eHealth Insurance Services Inc. through Dialog Direct as a Medicare licensed agent/consultant. Previously, she worked at Willis Towers Watson from 2014 to 2019 as a Medicare Insurance Agent. Prior to that, she worked as a bilingual insurance agent for Homeland HealthCare and Florida Blue and worked for other organizations, including Aflac Inc. and Primerica. She also spent time working in other positions, such as sales marketing management, short-term foreign missionary work, and office management, earlier in her career.

Dedicated to serving others, Ms. Downey has volunteered for many organizations such as the Home School Legal Defense Association, the Young Americans Club, the Texas Mothers of Multiples, and various churches. She has served as a spokesperson on domestic violence prevention, a philanthropist for various charities, lobbyist, and has earned the opportunity to participate in international missions across five different continents. She is currently a member of the First Baptist Church in Dallas and provides expertise with the multiple issues that arise as parents of twins.

Highly recognized for her professional excellence, Ms. Downey has received many awards and accolades throughout her career. She has received several Individual and Departmental Achievement Awards from Willis Towers Watson and was the recipient of a Fast Start and Sales Champion Award from Aflac Inc. in 2011. She was the recipient of a Power Representative Award from Primerica in 2010 and an International Peace Prize from the United Cultural Convention in Cambridge, England, in 2004. She was named Woman Of The Year, American Biographical Institute, and received a Ronald Reagan Gold Medal Award in 2004. Additionally, Ms. Downey has been highlighted in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, and Who's Who of American Women from 2003 to 2019. A highlight of her career was the celebration party on October 7, 2017, when she publicly received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and Statue. Ms. Downey attributes her success to Jesus Christ.

A proud single mother, Ms. Downey has five grown children. She dedicates this honorable recognition in loving memory of her father, Jack C. Cooper, M.D., who taught her how to love people.

In her spare time, Ms. Downey loves photography, watching classic movies, reading, writing, painting, and needlecrafts.
