Vero Beach, FL and Chicago, IL — Margo Montgomery, MBA, M.Ed, is being recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Woman of Influence for her outstanding achievements in the Life Coach industry and in acknowledgment of her work with M&M Life Coaching.
After working for many years within the corporate world as a human resource professional, Margo Montgomery founded M&M Life Coaching in 2012 and began her new role as a Leadership and Personal Life Coach. During her accomplished career, she has garnered over 35 years of experience as a coach, senior human resources leader, university teacher, and member of several Chicago-based boards.
As a Life Coach, Ms. Montgomery draws on her business and life experience to provide specific tools to empower individuals and teams to achieve their strategic objectives and their highest vision of themselves personally and as leaders. Ms. Montgomery didn't start her life coaching business for financial gain — rather, she did it to serve others, knowing that there is nothing out there that will make us sustainably happy; it's an inside job.
"I help my clients see the limiting beliefs that hold them back from their potential: the life they want, the relationships they are searching for, and the dreams they hope to fulfill," Ms. Montgomery says. "I support people to not just survive but thrive."
In her work, Ms. Montgomery works with executives, teams, and individuals through personal coaching, workshops, inspirational speaking, and retreats. Divorce is also a subspecialty of hers, given her own experience with the process. She starts with the Enneagram personality mapping system, which works as an MRI of your personality and a journey of self-discovery. There are nine distinct personality types, and knowing your type helps you understand the automatic and unconscious patterns that make up the way you interpret the world and manage your emotions. Your type patterns can work well for you, but they can also hinder your effectiveness and personal growth and pose challenges in your relationships. Together, you will then explore a conscious leadership model called "Living Above the Line," which is a powerful path to becoming a more conscious leader where curiosity, learning, trust, creativity, and collaboration are more in the forefront versus fear, drama and an "I'm right" mindset is hardwired within us. After all, we evolved from cavemen; fear and "being right" were required for survival.
In her teaching, she says, "We are here to be bold, express our unique gifts, and live a magnificent life. This isn't a dress rehearsal; this is the show. Letting go of fear and living your best life is possible for all, but it's not possible to do it without support. We don't see the water we swim in. With compassion but also accountability, I guide my clients to live a purposeful life, one with more intimacy and joy than they ever thought possible."
In pursuit of her higher education, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Bucknell University in 1976. From there, she completed a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Student Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Vermont in 1980 and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from New York University in 1987. She additionally holds coaching certifications from numerous institutes.
In her free time, she enjoys skiing, biking, and playing golf. She also teaches conscious golf, the internal game, because of her love of the sport. In accepting this recognition, she would like to recognize her mentors, Jim Dethmer of The Conscious Leadership Group, Katie and Gay Hendricks of The Hendricks Institute, and Terry Saracino and Helen Palmer of Enneagram Worldwide.
