Holden, MO, January 15, 2013, / Continental Who’s Who/- Marilyn Mickey-Clay is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as Professional Woman of the Year 2012-2013 as a result of her standing as a Legacy Member in field of Banking. With over thirty years of excellence in her role as Chairman of the Board of Farmers & Commercial Bank, Marilyn continues to provide exceptional Banking services to the Holden, Missouri area.
F&C Bank commenced operation on March 17, 1881 in a building located on the northeast corner of Second and Market Street in Holden, Missouri. The bank was founded and capitalized by a local entrepreneur and Canadian immigrant William Steele along with a group of local investors. In 1948, the Steele descendants sold controlling interest in the bank to R. S. and Sylvia Mickey who moved to Holden from the northwest Missouri town of Rosendale. Mr. Mickey’s family remains active in ownership and management today. F&C Bank currently employs 50 full and part-time associates who continue the tradition of “Finding Solutions. Creating Relationships.” at three separate locations.
In her position as Chairman of the Board, Marilyn is extremely proficient in presiding at meetings, as well as very knowledgeable in the areas of loans and discounts, as well as asset liability. She carries on the mission of F&C Bank by providing financial services for both traditional customers as well as new customers. Originally created for the agricultural producers and small businesses of the area, F&C Bank now mostly serves individual consumers.
In addition to her role at F&C Bank, Marilyn is also a member of First Christian Church and P.E.O. Sisterhood. Marilyn was recognized as Woman of the Year in 1989.
In the future, Marilyn hopes to continue to keep Farmers & Commercial Bank in good condition through the difficult economic times the country is facing.
