MARY D. AHRENS - FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT

Wilton, CT — Mary D. Ahrens is being recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Top Beauty Executive for her professional excellence in the beauty industry.  She has exhibited an unwavering devotion to children's charitable endeavors, and her outstanding leadership as Founder & President of Beauty Forward LLC., a 100% woman-owned small business.  Ms. Ahrens' launch of a business whose main purpose is to contribute to social causes is just one quality that makes Mary truly remarkable.

To give a brief history of Ms. Ahrens career journey, following her high school graduation in 1985, Mary Ahrens took a summer trip to Italy and fell in love with the country and its culture.  Her plan was to return and spend an extended amount of time in Italy.   She was approached by her father, who strongly "suggested" that she attend school for business, get a job and save enough money to be self-sufficient. Heeding her father's advice, Ms. Ahrens attended business school and applied for a position with Conair Corporation in 1986 with little intention of making it a career.

Little did she know, her new job as a secretary would open up a world of opportunity and the beginning of a passionate love affair with the beauty industry.  She had discovered her true professional calling, which was only the beginning of what can only be described as a meteoric rise in her career trajectory.

Having excelled in the sales industry for almost 30 years, 27 years of which were devoted to Conair Corporation, Ms. Ahrens is well-recognized as a distinguished, self-motivated executive. Throughout her career, she has found success at Conair Corporation, holding various positions, starting as a secretary and working her way up to be the youngest corporate officer in the company's history.  She is proud to have served as Conair's first female Vice President of Sales for 15 years, where she continued to gain valuable hands-on knowledge in the beauty industry. Ms. Ahrens orchestrated, over her tenure, an eight-fold sales and profit growth, which enabled Conair to become the market share leader in the hair accessory business. Her vast professional repertoire includes being well-versed in P&L management, budgets, costing, sourcing, and all facets of sales ranging from long term sales strategy to face to face customer sales calls and top to top meetings.

Following her successful tenure at Conair, Ms. Ahrens launched an exciting philanthropic haircare brand and online boutique, www.Hair4Good.com.  Aside from fashionable hair accessory products, Ms. Ahrens' true calling is to help improve children's lives in need. She donates 50% of her business's profits to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Autism Speaks, Lifting Up Westchester, and recently added Circle of Care.  In the future, Ms. Ahrens intends to expand the number of charities and the amount her business contributes.

As a testament to her professional excellence, she has been recognized among the top 10 Business Women in Exeleon Magazine for her nurturing passion and remarkable contribution to social causes and for sharing her good fortune with others.  Ms. Ahrens also received the high honor of being inducted into Who's Who in America, 2021.

A veteran in her industry, Ms. Ahrens is exceptionally capable of offering advice to those starting out. Being diagnosed with childhood dyslexia in the 5th grade, Ms. Ahrens' believes anyone can accomplish any goal or aspiration with determination and enthusiasm.  She advises, "Learn as much as you can from veteran executives, work hard, become a sponge, soak up and share as much knowledge as possible, and most importantly, always be kind and treat everyone with respect.  She recognizes the philanthropist and actor, Mr. Danny Thomas, as her greatest professional inspiration for showing her acts of kindness and inspiring her to share her good fortune and goodwill toward others.

An active member of her industry and community, Ms. Ahrens maintains her professional affiliation with the Connecticut Women's Business Development Council, the Retail Management Executive Group, Human Trafficking Awareness Heroes, and Woman helping Woman Entrepreneurs.

All her professional success aside, Ms. Ahrens considers her family, friends, and love of nature to be her overwhelming priority. She dedicates her personal life to the love of her life, Frank, and their son, Daniel.  Their love and support make all things possible.
