Alamogordo, NM- Monica Jill Wilkins, M.D., is being
recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Administrator in the field of
Medicine as an Associate Program Director at Gerald Champion Regional Medical
Center.
Owned and operated by the Otero County Hospital
Association, Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center was the first
military/civilian shared medical facility in the U.S. They are one of South
Central New Mexico’s top providers of affordable healthcare. With over nine
years of experience, Dr. Wilkins offers patients a holistic approach to
healthcare.
Throughout her career, Dr. Wilkins has amassed vast knowledge and clinical
experience, as well as strong leadership skills. A California native, she
previously worked as a vet tech for ten years. As an active member of her
community, she continues to be devoted to animal rights.
Dr. Wilkins prepared for her career by earning a Doctor of Medicine degree from
Ross University School of Medicine in Miramar, Florida. Then, she worked as an
intern and resident in family medicine at Mercy health Family Medicine
Residency Program in Janesville, WI.
Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Wilkins remains
at the forefront of her field through her affiliations with the American
Academy of Family Physicians and Physicians for Human Rights. A noted humanitarian
during her time in Undergraduate school at University of California, Irvine she
was hands on with the Armenian Eye Care Project. Today she is working on
getting her Obesity Medicine Certificate and a member of the Obesity Medicine
Association.
In recognition of Dr. Wilkin’s awards and recognitions, Mercyhealth Family
Medicine Residency Program honored her as chief resident from 2013 to 2014. For
her philanthropic work, she was awarded the Humanitarian Award.
