R. RAY BATTIN, PH.D. - NEURO-PSYCHOLOGIST / OWNER

Houston, TX- R. Ray Battin, Ph.D. is recognized by Continental Who’s Who in the field of Medicine as a Lifetime Achiever as a Neuro-Psychologist and the Owner of The Battin Clinic, Inc.    

Recognized as a specialty Outpatient Clinic, The Battin Clinic, Inc. has focused on psychology, audiology and neuropsychology since 1959.

With 60 years of experience in her field, Dr. Battin has held the roles of clinical instructor with the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston School of Medicine from 1964 to 1980, director of the audiology laboratory for the Houston ENT & Allergy from 1963 to 1973, and audiologist for Doctors Guilford, Wright and Draper in Houston, TX, from 1959 to 1963. Specializing in head injuries, neuropsychological-psychological, and audiological, Dr. Battin began her career as a counselor for the Women's Army Corps from 1945 to 1946. Additionally, she served as director of speech pathology and psychology at the Hedgecroft Hospital and Rehabilitation Center from 1956 to 1959, audiologist for the Center for Hearing and Speech in Houston from 1954 to 1956, counselor for The Ann Arbor School from 1950 to 1951, and instructor in speech pathology for the University of Denver from 1949 to 1950.

Throughout her education and training, Dr. Battin pursued an education at the University of Denver, earning a Bachelor of Arts in speech and hearing in 1948; Later, she obtained a Master of Science in speech science at the University of Michigan in 1950. Following this, Dr. Battin graduated from the University of Florida in 1959, receiving a Doctor of Philosophy in psychology. In the state of Texas, Dr. Battin has been licensed as a speech pathologist, audiologist and psychologist. She is also certified as a forensic examiner and medical examiner by the American Board of Forensic Professionals and has been a Diplomate in forensic neuropsychology, developmental psychology and psychological assessment.

To further her professional development, Dr. Battin is a member of APA (American Psychological Association), HPA (Houston Psychological Association), TPA (Texas Psychological Association), American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and W.A.C.S.
  (Women’s Army Corps) (’45-’46).
