Robert Joseph Tuggy
ROBERT JOSEPH TUGGY - LEAD ELECTRONIC RETIRED ENGINEER
La Mirada, CA — Robert Joseph Tuggy is being recognized by
Continental Who’s Who as a Top Electronic Engineer for his unwavering devotion
and contributions in the field of Engineering.
Mr. Tuggy is a distinguished electrical
engineer. Mr. Tuggy is now retired, worked as a The Lead Engineer of Laboratory
for the development and continued advancement of the “Minuteman Missile”
guidance system for 40 years. This was first with North American Aviation, then
with Rockwell International and then it became part of the Boeing Company. The world-renowned Boeing Co. is an American
multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and sells airplanes,
rotorcrafts, rockets, satellites, telecommunications equipment, and missiles.
The company also provides leasing and product support services worldwide. Mr.
Tuggy garnered valuable professional experience for the aforementioned
companies specializing in the development of the “Minuteman Missile” guidance
system. He retired 20 years ago.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Tuggy attended Riverside Jr. College for
Electrical Engineering, receiving an Associate of Arts degree. From there he
attended the University of California at Berkeley for two years. At this point,
his education was
interrupted by the Korean War. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Combat Engineers.
After 18 months of service, the Korean War was ending. He then continued his
education at California Polytechnic College at San Luis Obispo. There he
received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering.
In light of his professional achievements, Mr. Tuggy was nominated for the
Engineer of the Year one year.
Mr. Tuggy is a father of two children, Barbara and Glen with six grandchildren
and twelve great-grandkids.
He enjoys spending time with his family.
Mr. Tuggy dedicates this recognition to his father, Paul Henry Tuggy, who owned
a radio repair shop and inspired him to pursue the electronics field. He is
always thankful for the electrical engineering books his father has gifted to him.
