Missoula, MT — Wally E. Congdon is being recognized by
Continental Who's Who as a Distinguished
Attorney in the Law and Legal Services field, acknowledging his
professional excellence as the Chief Deputy County Attorney for Civil Matters
in Lake County, MT.
With 35 years of experience in practicing law, Mr. Congdon
has served as the Chief Deputy County Attorney for Civil Matters in Lake County
Courthouse since 2015. He has been practicing law for more than three decades
with a generational focus based on years and years of family tradition. Mr.
Congdon is licensed to practice law in the state of Montana and the Federal
Court. Also a cattle rancher at Big Sky Natural Beef, established in 1998, Mr.
Congdon's key to success is "Ethics and Butt Power."
Born in Racine, WI, Mr. Congdon was raised in Missoula,
graduating from Hellgate High School in 1975. In 1980, he completed his
undergraduate studies at the University of Montana. He attended the University
of Montana Law School, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in 1983, following his
father's legacy, James Congdon, who was a practicing attorney for 66 years.
From 1984 to 1985, Mr. Congdon was awarded a full-ride
Rotary Scholarship to attend Massey University, the largest agricultural
college in the Southern Hemisphere, located in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
He graduated with a diploma in Rural Towns and Regional Land Use Planning. While
studying in New Zealand, he traveled around the country speaking to Rotary
Clubs and organizations about agriculture and land use planning in the United
States.
Always one to give the most of himself in any endeavor he
pursues, Mr. Congdon served as a board member of the American Highland Cattle
Association for ten years. He is a member of the Highland Cattle Foundation and
is currently Vice President of the Montana Cattlemen's Association. Mr. Congdon
is also a member of the Agriculture Committee for the Missoula Chamber of
Commerce. In addition, he is a charter and ten-year member of the Ridge Runners
4-H club. He has served with various clubs for the past 40 years, including 4-H
as a leader and mentor. He is also actively involved with Future Farmers of
America, teaching about meat, cuts, quality assurance, and structure to yield
in Montana, Wyoming, and Canada.
The recipient of many awards, Mr. Congdon has been inducted
into the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame, receiving the Living Award for District
11 (Mineral, Missoula, and Ravalli Counties) in 2019.
